Step 1
To remove the Bobcat® seat assembly from the cab, the operator cab must first be raised in order to get to the seat assembly mounting bolts. ( Always stop the engine before raising or lowering the operator cab. ) Stop the loader on a level surface and lower the lift arm. If the lift arms must be up while raising the operator cab, install the lift arm support device. Install jack stands under the rear of the loader's frame to prevent the loader from tipping back when the cab is lifted due to most of the weight being at the rear of the machine ( Figure.1 ).
Step 2
Using a 19mm wrench, remove the nut and plate on both sides at the front corners of the operator cab ( Figure.2 ). Lift on the grab handles and the bottom of the operator cab slowly until the cab is all the way up and latching mechanism engages ( Figure.3 ).
Step 3
Locate and remove the four seat mounting nuts and washers using a 1/2" socket - Item.1 ( Figure.4 ). Depending on conditions, the mounting nuts might be seized and may require WD-40 in order to remove. When installing your new seat, tighten the nuts to 20 ft-lbs (27 N•m) torque.
Step 4
Lower the operator cab and install one of the mounting washers and nuts to keep the cab from lifting back up once the seat has been removed from the cab ( Figure.5 ). Lift the seat assembly straight up until the seat mounting studs are free from the seat pan. Make sure to remove any leaves or dirt from the seat pan before installing the new replacement seat.
Step 5
Reverse the removal procedure to install the new Bobcat seat replacement.
