Posted by AllSkidsteers Marketing Team on 23rd Aug 2018

In this Pro Tip Guide you'll learn how to Install the Bobcat Front Door Glass on your Skid Steer, saving you both time and money. Whether your replacing your broken G-Series Door Glass or if you've purchased one of our G-Series Complete Door Kits, this guide will help make installation quick and easyIf you have any further questions on this installation process, feel free to contact our Skid Steer Tech Support.

Tools Needed :

1. Padded Stand ( optional )

2. Rubber Mallet

3. Regular screwdriver or a large, curved pick

4. Tape

Step 1

To begin, place the Door Frame of the door face down on an elevated surface or stand and install the Outer Rubber Door Seal. Once the seal is attached around the door frame by hand, lightly tap the seal with a rubber mallet to lock it into place and trim to the proper lengthIf your replacing your existing glass, you can skip this step.

Step 2

Next, turn the frame face up and install the Door Glass Seal. Start at the lower parts of the frame near the center, and continue clock-wise working the seal onto the frame placing tape as needed to temporarily secure it to the frame. See Figure 1. Once the seal is around the frame's inner opening, you will have some access seal left over. Trim the seal as necessary. If your replacing an existing glass. Be sure to clean the door seal removing it of any glass pieces that may have been left over from when it was broken. Then follow step 2.

Step 3

Place the Door Glass on top of the frame. Then, using a screwdriver or pick, slowly work the glass into the glass slot on the rubber starting from the handle side first and working your way around the frame. See Figure 2.

Step 4

Once the glass is down into slot of the rubber seal, using the same tools as step 3, start to fold the top lip into the rubber as show in Figure 3.

Step 5

Turn the door face down and install the Rubber Cord. Make sure the cord is inserted all the way down into the groove as this will lock your glass into the door frame. Once the cord is worked around the frame, cut any access off as needed, then install a brightly colored ZipTie under the cord at the top of the door. See Figure 4. When pulled, the ZipTie will release the cord out of the groove allowing the window to be pushed out of the frame in case a emergency exit from the machine is needed.

Once you've complete all the above steps, clean the front and back of the glass and install all of the supporting components for your door. Any parts needed in installing or updating your Bobcat Door can be found online at AllSkidsteers.com
